We are very proud to to have acted as lead counsel to Creator Fund on the recent launch of its maiden institutional fund, raising $41m across initial closings this year.
With a unique European thesis of backing PhD founders in UK/Europe via a curated network of PhD students across 24 universities in 8 countries, the new fund builds on solid foundations laid by previous S/EIS funds with the same investment thesis.
Creator Fund was founded in 2019 and has built one of Europe's most powerful networks across the continent's leading research laboratories. It is led by Jamie Macfarlane and Alexandra Ntemourtsidou.
The fund is anchored by German fund-of-funds manager Equation Capital and the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO). Of the other 60+ limited partners joining them, Blue Wire Capital (another Blears client) is an investor. A final close will be held in early 2026.
The Blears team was led by Ollie Blears, with support from associate Bethany Johnson and trainee George Jones.
